Swapping briefcase for boxing gloves, at thirty-three-years-old Jeff quits his financial analyst job, rids the shackles of a soulless life in order to pursue his passion in becoming an MMA fighter, and in the process, redefines the meaning of success.

Jeff seems successful. Yet despite a 7-figure salary, Jeff feels miserable and empty. The only outlet he has from his unfulfilling finance job is practicing mixed martial arts. On the mat, Jeff is alive.

One day, shocking everyone, Jeff quits his job, travels to Brazil to train in MMA. Jeff is determined to pursue a path less traveled. A year later Jeff becomes the first Taiwanese to enter MMA’s professional leagues.

Pursuing combat sports as a career is unacceptable for most traditional Asian families. Jeff’s family struggles with his decision and their relationship is strained. But Jeff feels he’s finally found his purpose in life. What price will Jeff pay in order to redefine success?

1. Why did I choose to produce this particular story?

I began this project from 2013, and it was a decision I did not make lightly. I decided to use my skills as a director to do something that has personal weight, and hopefully can be meaningful to many others as well.

People always talk about pursuing dreams around me. Many famous directors have shot films on the subjects and many writers have worked on these stories. This film is my perspective on the subject.

The shooting process also shaped my perspective in life and love : I learnt about the importance of love and acceptance among family members in our lives. Every seemingly random occurrence happens for a reason and in one way or another its lesson will reveal itself to us. Make the decision and keep faith. It’s really just that simple, but definitely not easy.

I believe “The Machine” can create transformative experiences, giving people an opportunity to see the world from new perspectives.

2. What are the social/spiritual values of the film?

While some aspects of the movie would not be found in the average person’s life, the movie shows us not to waste our life living someone else's life. Don't let the noise of others' opinions drown your own inner voice. And most importantly, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition.

It is a story about love. It is a story about life. It is a story about dreams.

3. Can you complete the film?

Although an independent film does not include a completion bond, every effort has been made to ensure the completion of the film. While there are many factors involved, there are three main reasons for which I am confident that the film will definitely be completed.

Firstly, I hand picked my crew who have shown their commitment and dedication for this project for the past 3 years.

Secondly, I have developed a strong bond with the characters who are also giving their all to walk this project towards the finish line.

Lastly, we are only one fight away from post-production. The fights have been scheduled and the shooting arrangement has been planned.

4. Will you succeed?

There is no sure map for success, but there is a road to failure: making unrealistic deadlines and lack of planning. While we cannot guarantee success, we can guarantee that we are taking every possible step to avoid failure. This project has been over a year in the making, with every step planned out and prepared for.

While no one can predict the future, we believe in our dedicated staff, the value of our concept and our hard work will result in a high quality and successful film.

We are working on the Official Teaser, subscribe us for the next update.
